چکیده

ABSTRACT Introduction: The Pilates method (PM) combines slow-deep breathing with strengthening and stretching exercises. However, it has been proposed as a of physical conditioning for several decades only recently aroused academic/scientific interest, few reports the effects this intervention in hypertensive patients. Objective: to compare PM aerobic training (AT) on subjects’ blood pressure (BP), functional capacity autonomic balance. Methods: Twenty-four subjects were randomly allocated into two groups: ATG performed three 40 min sessions/week, moderate intensity (40-70% reserve HR), PMG 60 sessions/week; both during same eight weeks period. Blood (casual 24 hours), 6-minute walking test (6-MWT) balance evaluated before after intervention. Results: There was reduction systolic BP (SBP, p=0.007), diastolic (p=0.032) mean (MBP, p=0.016), measured 24h, PMG. also 24h SBP (p=0.021). had greater (-3.4 mmHg, 95% CI -6.6 -0.2) MBP (-3.3 -6.3 -0.3) than ATG. held longer distance 6-MWT. Casual no difference. Conclusion: This protocol superior AT monitored hours subjects, but better capacity. not enough change Level Evidence: I; High-quality randomized clinical trial or without statistically significant difference, narrow confidence intervals.

Strength vs aerobic training in children with cystic fibrosis: a randomized controlled trial.

STUDY OBJECTIVE Exercise has the potential to improve the ability of a patient with cystic fibrosis (CF) to cope with the physical demands of everyday life, and may improve prognosis. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of a home-based, semi-supervised, upper-body strength-training regimen with a similarly structured aerobic training regimen. DESIGN Data were collected during...

Effects of aerobic exercise training in anemic cancer patients receiving darbepoetin alfa: a randomized controlled trial.

BACKGROUND Anemia in patients with solid tumors is a common problem that is associated with impaired exercise capacity, increased fatigue, and lower quality of life (QoL). Erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs) have been shown to improve these outcomes; however, it is unknown if additional benefits can be achieved with aerobic exercise training. METHODS We conducted a single-center, prospec...

Aerobic vs anaerobic exercise training effects on the cardiovascular system

Physical exercise is one of the most effective methods to help prevent cardiovascular (CV) disease and to promote CV health. Aerobic and anaerobic exercises are two types of exercise that differ based on the intensity, interval and types of muscle fibers incorporated. In this article, we aim to further elaborate on these two categories of physical exercise and to help decipher which provides th...

Effects of Pilates-Based Core Stability Training in Ambulant People With Multiple Sclerosis: Multicenter, Assessor-Blinded, Randomized Controlled Trial.

BACKGROUND Pilates exercise is often undertaken by people with multiple sclerosis (MS) who have balance and mobility difficulties. OBJECTIVES The primary aim of the study was to compare the effects of 12 weeks of Pilates exercises with relaxation on balance and mobility. Secondary aims were: (1) to compare standardized exercises with relaxation and (2) to compare Pilates exercises with standa...
